Should Women Have The Right To Opt Out Of Parenthood ?

They can just drop kids off at a hospital, firestation and such if they cant take care of the kid. By the way this is just for women. A man cant do this if he CANT pay child support so what gives ? So should women have the right to opt out of parenthood ? Yes or No and why.

    1. horde leveling guide Says:

That law was put in place to protect newborns from scared teens giving birth and throwing them into dumpsters. Grown women know if they don’t want a baby there are other options, first and foremost being not to get pregnant in the first place. Grown men know they have options too like using protection when they have sex.

    2. Rebel Says:

If a woman opts out of parenthood, then the fetus is either destroyed or the baby is left at a hospital and will ultimately be adopted by TWO loving parents who can afford to care for it. Basically, it means that either the child won’t exist or will be in the hands of people who can afford to care for it without needing outside support.
When people say that even if the woman wants to keep the child, the man should be able to “opt out of parenthood,” they are forgetting that the mother will probably be unable to raise the child on her income alone. So, there are several options:
      1. Allow her and her child to starve or resort to stealing to live — unacceptable
      2. Force her to abort — unacceptable and a violation of her autonomy
      3. Give government support to her and the child in the amount that they would otherwise get from child support — unacceptable, since the whole of society should not have to pay for two people’s mistakes
      4. Make the man who fathered the child pay support — I don’t really like this option, but it is the least unacceptable of all of them. Because the child exists and he was involved in its creation, he has some obligation to it. If he didn’t want to be saddled with child support for 18 years, he should have been more proactive about birth control on his end, for example by using condoms or getting a vasectomy.

    3. tehabwa Says:

You need to consider the consequences.
YOU may think it a good thing for an innocent baby to suffer and die; almost everyone disagrees with you.
IF man is sole care-taker, he CAN drop off a baby, with no consequences, so your premise is false.
If a man CAN’T pay child support, he can get changes to the agreement, until he CAN pay.
You seem to think that paying some money is equivalent to having to care for aa baby or child, every second of every day — they are NOT equivalent. The latter is vastly harder on a person.

    4. I'm just sayin Says:

it’s strange to hear so many people claiming that a man can’t opt out of parenthood when I haven’t seen or heard from my father since I was 6 months old.
There’s plenty of children in this world who don’t know their father and are being raised by their mother.
I think that’s a sick law that has been abused. People have been dropping their 6 yr olds, teenagers, you name it. It’s meant to save newborns from being thrown in the trash, local lake, etc and it’s sad that we have such a sick world which requires such laws, but it’s a necessary evil.

    5. ? Mad Luv ? Says:

hard to say of course not they should be given up to an adoption place!
i also think a man should have a right to opt out too!
WTF is wrong with this world!
if you were a kid what would you want
option 1 – dumped off at a hospital where you can find proper homing!
option 2 – to be raised by someone who don’t like you or want you around!

    6. Smartphone Software Says:

If a man KNOWS he “can’t” pay child support, perhaps he should “opt out” of being sexually active in the first place! Consider that one for a moment….
Re: Safe Haven aka Baby Moses laws. They are NOT “just for women” the laws do not state that, so quit trying to make up stuff here.

    7. Mike T Says:

It should be a joint decision. If any ONE parent wants the child then it has to be born.
This means.. if the woman wants it.. she has it. If the man wants it.. she HAS IT. End of story.
If no one wants it… abortion.
That’s TRUE fairness. It doesn’t get more fair than that.

    8. Sunshine Says:

In most states with Safe Haven laws, either parent, male or female, can surrender their child, thereby terminating parental rights and responsibilities, without prosecution. The laws are to protect the child, and it shouldn’t be made into a gender issue.

    9. ! Answers Says:

Typical answers of keep it in your pants. Wasnt the question about the miriad of ways that women can opt out of parenthood and men have ZERO.

    10. Heavy Metal Music and Bands Says:

Because otherwise babies end up in dumpsters.
Sometimes “right” and “fair” aren’t the same thing. And holding people accountable can’t be your #1 priority.

    11. character education Says:

no.If women don’t want kids they should learn to keep their legs close instead of having it and aborting it or leaving it in the hospital.

    12. unforgiv Says:

no sympathy here man! My father was a deadbeat dad and it makes me sick. Just pay ur child support or at least as much as u can. And at least pretend to love ur kid. It’s not about u anymore.

    13. Feminecr Says:

If anything, fewer people should be abandoning their children. Not more.

    14. anti-spam Says:

Men have this option as well. They simply have to sign over their rights as a parent. What world do you live in.

    15. ermy Says:

      we need more birth control

    16. J3sus_Fr Says:

Unless it can be proven beyond reasonable doubt that she was raped or would die as a result of giving birth the only way a woman should be legally allowed to have an abortion is through suicide. Aside from the two afore-mentioned situations, if a woman isn’t willing to take her own life she shouldn’t be willing to take that of her own flesh and blood.

    17. Avatar Says:

No single method of contraception is always 100% effective and with every instance of sexual intercourse with a woman there is a risk of pregnancy occurring.
      You may:
      - keep it in your pants
      - have sex with other men instead because men can’t get pregnant
      - learn the lost art of autofellation.
